SpaceX loses another Starship and Super Heavy rocket in double explosion during test

SpaceX's second check flight of its Starship spacecraft — which it hopes will at some point ferry people to the moon and Mars — led to an explosion Saturday morning minutes after taking off from the corporate's spaceport in Boca Chica, Texas. Starship launched simply after 8AM ET atop a Tremendous Heavy rocket, the biggest rocket on the planet. 

Moments after finishing stage separation, when the Tremendous Heavy booster indifferent itself from Starship, the rocket's first stage exploded. Starship, nonetheless, continued on for a number of extra minutes, surpassing the flight time of its predecessor. A faint explosion may very well be seen within the livestream across the 8-minute mark, and hosts confirmed quickly after that they'd misplaced contact with the craft.
